Ark Angel- 2

Ark Angel really kept me on the edge of my seat. The vivid descriptions helped me picture the scenes in my head and the natural dialogue made it seem like a movie. Thats what I think is the atrraction of Anthony Horowitz’s books. It always holds the suspense and there is action everywhere. He always keeps my attention. I knew that Ark Angel was going to be a good book, but it was different from the other series. Alex actually goes to space and he has to fight in space. Alex has to do various tasks in space and the vivid description of Earth from space amazes me since the writer has never actually been there. He always gives clues and I always wonder what it is at first. This book is definetly one of my top 5 favorite books and this author is definetly my top 3. I was so into reading this book that I finished it in 1 day!

Yesterday, I looked at my combined calender on edline and almost fainted. When I looked at the list of homework, it was longer than any other time I’ve seen the calender. I pretty much had a test in every single class, even band! I really wanted to just give up and go to sleep.

2 days ago, I felt great because I had a good lunch. I was filled with energy and I felt kind of sad that I had to stay in my room all day for the approaching tests. I told myself that I would play like crazy after all my tests finished. I really was impatient for this week to be over.

3 days ago, I learned that trying new food can be a good experience even if you don’t think you like it. I thought bamboo was gross because it was like eating a stick or something. I soon found out that bamboo can be delicious and has high nutrition. Even though at first I didn’t like it, I soon saw that bamboo was good

Yesterday, I had a music concert and I played the flute. Our school was so small last year and this year it got so big that I was surprised by the number of people in the auditorium. While I was playing, my friend decided to call me. I was so surprised that I stopped playing for about 4 measures.

2 days ago, I felt fear of the next day since I had stayed up till 3 studying and I had about 3 tests and a concert coming up. I was worried that I might fall asleep in the concert since it was classical music.

3 days ago, I learned that the smallest things I do can affect the way people think about me. I learned this when in the cafeteria when I was getting a cup for some water. There was another kid in front of me getting a cup to. I thought that he would just take it and close the door like all the other kids do. But this kid actually got 2 cups and gave it to me. Though it sounds kind of stupid, it made me think that he was a really nice kid.

Intro: I’m really, really srry about changing books and not updating for a while!!! But I have to read on one specific author for quarter 3 and there were too many Eoin Colfer people. So I changed to Anthony Horowitz. Ark Angel is the last book published currently from the Alex Rider series. Before it there are 5books: Stormbreaker, Point Blanc, Skeleton Key, and Eagle Strike, and Scorpia.

Background: The background story is that Alex Rider’s parents died in a plane accident. The parents were actually secret agents murdered on the plane.(Scorpia) So Alex lived with his uncle, Ian RIder until his uncle died in a mission to when Alex was 14. All Alex has left is Jack, his guardian and friend. Alex starts working for m16, a secret group that acts like bankers. He is always put in the missions unwillingly and Alex is the ultimate weapon since he is young. After ruining Scorpia, a evil orginization, plans, Scorpia sends a sniper and shoots right above Alex’s heart.

Summary: Alex is in the hospital and meets a boy in the room next to him. The day before he is realesed from the hospital, Alex goes for a walk at night. They see 3 men which Alex names Steel Watch, Combat Jacket, and Silver Tooth. Alex succeesfully knocks out all of these men and saves the boy in his next room who was going to get kidnapped by acting like he was the boy. Unfortunately, there was a 4th man and Alex is knocked out. When he wakes up, he is in a abandonned hospital and is brought to meet a man with a head tatooed like a globe. He is the head of Force Three which is a orginization that claims to be saving the world. They think its Alex and they are holding him for a million dollars of ransom since the orginal boy’s father was a billionare. Alex finally tells them that he is not the boy when they try to cut his finger off as proof they have the billionare’s son. Alex is put in the room and the apartment goes on fire. Using the things around him, Alex gets out and faints in the hands of a fire man. At the hospital, Alex is interviewed by M16 and the doctor wants Alex to rest for 2 weeks. Since Alex saved the billionare’s son and is friendly with the boy, he is invited to stay with the boy in luxury.

Feelings: The reason I love this series is that the writer always catches suspense and doesn’t realise it until the end. I really want to know what other problem is going to pop out when Alex goes to the house. I saw some foreshadowing that the billionare was not a good man.

What I think will happen: I think the billionare could be another evil thing itself and Alex would have 2 problems to deal with. I think Alex might actually be lead into a trap by the billionare because maybe he might know that Alex works for M16.

On Monday, my power adapter for my laptop actually blew up! I don’t know what happened but the wire got so hot that the plastic around it melted. Then there was smoke and that’s when I noticed the adapter. The hole was flashing of a yellow light from the electricity passing through it. I quickly pulled it out of the jack and I had to throw it away. I’m having a hard time with my battery now.

On Sunday, I learned that pinching yourself, slapping yourself, and hurting yourself in any other was isn’t going to help you sleep. When these things actually help, you’re not sleepy and you can keep yourself awake in some other way.

2 days ago, I felt hatred towards myself for using all the money I had the day before in the concert. I had barely enough money to get home from Seoul to my house and at first; I thought I wouldn’t get home. It was a interesting day since I usually had enough money to go to Seoul and back 10 times and still have some money left.

On Sunday, I went to church and had another battle with sleep. I was slowly being sucked in to the vortex of sleep. I was doing my best but the sleepiness was taking over me. I closed my eyes and opened them again after 2 seconds. At least, I thought it was 2 seconds. When I opened my eyes again everyone was in their cell groups. I had lost again…

2 days ago, I felt annoyed at the fact that I hadn’t planned how I would get home from the concert in Seoul that took place a day ago. I also felt very, very sore because of all the squashing, compressing, and slamming I had got through the other day.

On Friday, I learned that the people around you don’t really give a care about you. The world is a cruel place that will torture you every time it gets a chance. Especially in rock concerts; people were hitting, pushing, and hurting other people just to go to the front row. People on the front row pushed back and I was squashed by about 6 people. It was like a war in there.

Yesterday, I found out that the little dude decided to copy my blog! The original phrase was “Only the best weblog in the world.” So I changed it into “Only the best class in the universe” If he copies me again, I am going to kick him in the shin.

2 days ago, I felt excited because I actually got to adjust the volume on the sound board with my partner. I was also happy when I could finally play the song “Above All” with the flute. It was kind of a challenge because I was used to reading flats and the music was in sharp.

3 days ago, I learned that everyone is always grumpy on Mondays because everyone was frowning and my friends got mad at me for the slightest reasons. I guess I was grumpy to because I was mad at them for being mad at me.

On Wednesday, I got to help in the sound booth in chapel again. We had problems with the speakers though. The sound was coming out through only one speaker and only one singer was being heard. We still couldn’t fix it and we have no clue what it is up to now.

On Tuesday, I felt great because I wasn’t sick anymore. The 3 days before, I had to stay in bed but I finally got to get out of my house and get some fresh air. I was in such a good mood that I actually thought school was interesting!

On Monday, I learned that missing even one day of school make you extremely bored. I had nothing to do and I actually wanted to be in school. I also learned that missing one day could do harm in your grades because I missed a spelling pretest.

On Monday, I missed school because I had a severe neck cold. Phantom Two thought I went to a new school. I had to go to the doctor and he gave me about 10 pills. He put sleeping pills in my medicine so I slept for 16 hours and had a hard time going to sleep at night. I think that day was the sickest day of my life.

On Sunday, I felt very sick and bad because I also had a severe neck cold. I didn’t eat anything so I was also tired. I didn’t think I ever felt happy that day. I slept most of the time so I was anxious to get some fresh air.

On Saturday, I learned that I shouldn’t play with my friends when I have a cold because after I played with him, I got very, very sick. o sick that as you read, I couldn’t go to school for one day.
